Innerspring:
This classic includes our new 1148 zoned Luxcore Innerspring with Vigor Edge Steel Perimeter.- With firmer coils in the center third of its three zones, the zoned Luxcore provides extra back support that aids spinal alignment.
- The unique zoning configuration of the fabric-encased coils means you get greater density combined with ideal firmness, comfort, and spring action.
- Vigor Edge Steel Perimeter features revolutionary, narrow-diameter Quantum coils that form a perimeter around the mattress, providing comfortable support to the edge of the bed.
Comfort Layers
Upholstered on both sides with:
- 1.4-ounce bonded cotton & polyester insulator pads
- 15 pounds of natural cotton
- ¾ inch, 1.5-pound density foam & ¾ ounce cotton & rayon fiber blend quilted to an organic cotton cover
- Button–tufting
Foundation
- Exclusive 9″ Heavy Duty Amish-built wood foundation. This foundation has three times the slats of the industry-standard foundation (18 slats, not 6).
- This quality foundation is built with more vertical supports and double the center supports of most foundations.

Model Layers, Top to Bottom
The Classic Ortho Firm is a flippable, two-sided mattress with the same comfort and transition construction on both sides of its central support system. It combines breathable natural fibers, resilient comfort foam, and a reinforced LuxCore support system, allowing the mattress to be turned regularly while maintaining the same feel from either sleep surface.
Comfort
- Organic Cotton Knit Cover: A soft, breathable organic-cotton cover on each side of the mattress that adds surface comfort and allows the layers below to respond naturally.
- 0.6 oz. per sq. ft. Cotton-Rayon Blend: A lightweight fiber layer on each side of the mattress that adds softness and creates a smoother transition into the cushioning material below.
- 1 Inch of 1.8 lb. 17 ILD Foam: A resilient comfort foam on each side of the mattress that adds cushioning and pressure relief while maintaining a responsive surface feel.
Transition
- 2.5 oz. per sq. ft. Natural Cotton: A breathable natural-cotton padding layer on each side of the mattress that adds resilient cushioning and helps separate the upholstery from the spring system.

- 1,148 3-Zone LuxCore Spring System with Vigor Edge Steel Perimeter: Individually fabric-encased coils provide responsive support and help limit motion transfer. The center zone reinforces the torso and lumbar area, while the Vigor Edge Steel Perimeter improves edge stability.
