What is a Flippable Mattress?
Modern mattresses are generally made with only one side in mind. Soft padding, high-density foam, and thick layers ensure that a single side is comfortable.
A flippable mattress is carefully crafted to ensure both sides offer a soothing night’s sleep. Using a classic innerspring system in the center and padding on either side, the mattress will support a person’s body weight no matter which way up it is facing.
There are thick layers of padding on both sides. These are made from natural materials like wool and cotton or synthetics like polyester and memory foam. The dense comfort layer can be a blend of both.
You can—and should—flip a two-sided mattress regularly. The whole purpose of a flippable mattress is to be used on either side. Doing so increases both your comfort and the life span of your mattress.

Which Lasts Longer, One-sided or Flippable Mattresses?
Two-sided mattresses last longer than their one-sided counterparts.
It’s only logical really – a two-sided mattress has twice the surface area to use, so the distribution of damage and general wear and tear can be spread across a wider space.
You can flip and rotate the mattress whenever necessary, giving the materials of the opposing side a chance to recover and regain their shape.
The only way to rotate a single-sided mattress is to rotate its head to toe. Eventually, the fiber materials will settle, faltering over the years of constant use. Lying in the same spot for years creates a dip that goes beyond conforming to body shape.
No matter how many times you rotate or flip a foam mattress, it will never regain its shape once lost.

You then may find yourself waking up with back pain.
Most single-sided mattresses made of foam last six to ten years; however, good production and rotating them regularly can extend this.
A double-sided mattress can last much longer.

Can You Use Both Sides of a Mattress?

The recommendation shows to flip a two-sided mattress every three months or so. There’s no hard and fast rule for the frequency of mattress flipping, but you should alternate between sides at least a few times a year.

Hand-tufted mattresses require several skilled workers many hours of their time to complete; stitch by stitch.

The use of natural materials in bed-making has fallen out of fashion. However, we believe that they offer the premier experience in comfort.
For many people, it is important to know that the mattress they are sleeping on isn’t full of synthetic materials.
Throughout history, we have used natural materials as a base for our beds. Though synthetic materials can be useful, we believe that natural fabrics should be the focus.
Many of our flippable mattresses are primarily made with cotton, though some components have a polyester blend.

The Classic Orthopedic Firm mattress uses all-natural materials as much as possible without sacrificing comfort, durability, or price.
The upholstery is similar to that in the Basics Majestic mattress: it is primarily made with cotton. Still, it has added synthetic elements (though the quantities of synthetic material are lesser in this mode).
The bed features an 1130 coil Combi-Zone, ComfortCore InnerSpring, and Quantum Edge Steel Perimeter. The Combi-Zone coils add that extra layer of firmness, providing back support and aiding in spinal alignment.
