Box Spring FAQ
How long can you use a box spring?
- A high-quality box spring or foundation can last over ten years. A low-quality box spring, which most mattress retailers (including bed-in-box brands) offer low-quality options which may last a few years.
Does it matter which box spring you get?
- The type of mattress will determine which box spring you need. Most box springs are made for mattresses with coils. So innerspring and hybrid mattresses are ideal for box springs, particularly our standard or heavy-duty box springs. Box springs aren’t needed for memory foam and latex mattresses.
Can a mattress foundation be placed on a bed frame?
- Yes. Consider, however, the height to get into your bed. Try with and without a bedframe to see what you like best!
What are the main advantages of a mattress foundation over a box spring?
- Foundations support all mattresses, are more durable and firm, and contain wooden slats for better airflow and support.
